BLUE MOON MAGIC (7) proved too good on debut over 515m at this track to score by one length (30.26). Boxed wide but has the pace to be prominent. Can measure up again. BEAVER MENZIES (4) charged out of the boxes with a fast early split and led for much of the way before being grabbed late, finishing a nose second at Richmond over 520m in 29.91. Some good form is emerging from his last run. Overdue and is among the main hopes. SHE'S THE BEST (3) finds it hard to break through. Finished in the money last time though when second (23.71) at Richmond. Bold showing expected. DEADLY VENOM (6) made it two minor placings on the trot when beaten third (30.04) in a Grade 5 at The Gardens last time out.
