AKINA CRUSADER (8) has shown good improvement at his last two starts, finishing in the money last time when 2nd at this track over 435m. Expected to be in this for a long way. SMOOTH BEAUTY (7) struggled to get involved last start after settling well back at Traralgon, but prior to that won by a neck at Ballarat (22.51) beating Major Jealous in a T3 RSTW on May 23. Comes through a solid form race last start. Key player if finds best. JUSTIFIED JIM (1) deserves plenty of thought at his first run at this circuit.
