FIRE AND PASSION (1) has worked in finishing runner-up in two starts here since his fifth in the NSW Derby, racing three wide in last week's heat before finding the death seat and fighting well to miss narrowly. Much better served by the ace draw here. That can see him back in the winners' list. BARSBY (6) is hard to knock having added to a string of top-two finishes when an impressive winner from a similar draw in the heats, working to the front before cruising home by nearly 11 metres. Big chance again. PURE GRUNT (3) added to a good record here when he took out his heat last week. Draws for another good showing. SITTING ON EIGHT (8) has put two wins together at this circuit and distance, one of them from this draw. Must respect along with IDEAL BRONSKI (11) who cops a tricky draw but made it three on the trot with his resuming success and is two from two when second-up.
