Brilliant mare CAPTAINS MISTRESS NZ (3) was stunning in her track-recording breaking win in the Rising Sun at this circuit and distance last week when she led from this barrier and drew away to beat the boys by 7m. Building a phenomenal record since switching from NZ and she should be able to push forward again. Hard to tip against her in the small field. FOX DAN (2) has 18m to make up on Captains Mistress through his midfield finish in the Rising Sun but he did have a tough second row draw there so was far from disgraced. Recorded a long string of wins and placings prior and from a better draw could be more competitive. HESITATE (1) only beat a couple home in the Rising Sun but that was from a much wider barrier. Led to win here prior so can be prominent from the ace draw. FATE AWAITS (5) suffered his first defeat in six tries at this circuit and distance last week. Those victories include last year's Rising Sun and he returns to the front row so he is a trifecta hope.
