RANIERI NZ (3) only beat a couple home when resuming but has a strong second-up record with two wins and placing from three attempts so look for big improvement. LA PIERRE (2) made a decent return to racing when he finished fourth last start at Launceston over 2200m. Should be fitter for that so expecting a very good run. CINCINNATI (1) last appeared three-and-a-half months ago but gets a favourable staring position so expect a good effort to kick off this prep.
