SOUTH AUSSIE STAR (8) resumes from a spell of three-and-a-half months after closing off last campaign in good form, scoring at her last appearance at this circuit and distance. Should enjoy a pretty soft run from this draw, with the sprint lane in play. Readied with a nice trail so could pick up where he left off. KOJAX (3) is a newcomer to the Ryan Hryhorec from NSW where was a Newcastle winner at his second outing. Should enjoy a nice run from this more favourable starting position so could measure up. CECIL PEAK (4) takes a step up but has upside and is one of the main contenders after winning his two starts here off a spell. Difficult to ignore that sort of form. JADES REASON (1) deserves respect after winning from this barrier last start.
