Melton Race 7 - Aldebaran Park Tatlow Stakes (2yo Trotters)

PHOENIX REX (3) missed the Vicbred final after suffering his first defeat when runner-up in the heats but he had looked very good in winning his first four starts, three of them coming here and the other in the QBred Final in Brisbane. A good draw gives him every chance to return to the winners' list. Hard to knock the consistency of REGAL GALA (2) who added to a string of wins and placings with his brave second in the Vicbred final last start. Led from much wider when winning easily here last month so can take advantage of the low draw. Big threat. INSULATOR (4) had this draw when less than 2m behind REGAL GALA in the Vicbred final and beat Phoenix Red to win his heat prior so the form lines stack right up. KYVALLEY DIXON (6) tackles the boys and draws wide but made it three wins from her past four starts when she came from wide on the back row to win the fillies' Vicbred final last start.
