BETTORLEFTALONE (6) started a hot favourite but had to work and finished second last start, beaten less than 4 metres at Kilmore. Tackled the Victoria Derby series here prior, finishing fourth from the back row in his heat. This looks a highly winnable assignment. MY MATE ACE (2) is hard to knock after winning three starts since a spell. Showed plenty of fight to salute at the most recent appearance at Kilmore, overcoming a back roe draw and getting home by 1.2 metres. Likely to get the favours from this nice draw. Meets some better types this time but another win isn't out of the question. WHERE IS WOODY (1) draws much better than at his most recent appearance and came from this barrier when he won at Maryborough four back. REFUSAL (8) found form with a second-up win over BETTORLEFTALONE at Kilmore last start. Draws for a trail and could be open to further improvement.
