Wagga Race 5 - Mawsons Riverina Championships Mares Final (Listed Classic)

Talented mare GUNNA RELOAD (14) was first up for five months when she came from the widest barrier to win her qualifier last week and the hitout should have only improved her. That was her fourth win on the trot and her first outing since her G1 Breeders Challenge win in October. She is good enough to come from the outside of the back row and win. SMIRKIN SERENE (10) made an encouraging return when beaten 3m into third in her heat. She is two from two when second up so should be improved and draws for a trail. PEACE OUT (11) settled back but worked home nicely for second to GUNNA RELOAD last week. She goes well second-up with two wins and a placing from four attempts so progression is likely. Wide draw for MY LITTLE BO (8) but she deserves respect having added to her string of wins and placings when beaten less than 2m into second last week.
