Ballarat Race 9 - Sportsbet More Places (Bm66)

This race - a heat of the Melb Cup Carnival country series -was meant to be run at Murtoa last Saturday, but was transferred after that meeting was washed out. No doubt a target for many and BIG ROOSTER (2) looks to hit it at the right time. Good win last start, has trialled well since and draws ideally. INHERENTLY (1) is the best-performed horse in the race, but that's why he's got 63kg. Will be better over further later, but a winner first-up and at this trip so can feature. LAKE VOSTOK (4) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a fourth over 1600m at Bendigo. It doesn't get any easier but on her best form she is good enough to take this out. CUTE GIRL (8) was an impressive winner last time over 1600m at Hamilton, stalking the pace before lengthening nicely to score by 3 lengths. She's got upside. DURHAM (6) is holding together nicely in what has been a consistent campaign so there's no reason he won't be around the mark again.
