BETTER BLOOM (11) has opened her career in an encouraging way. Caught the eye when a close fourth on debut over 1200m at Goulburn then stayed at that trip last start and was again strong through the line when third at Newcastle. Back to a country maiden and 1400m looks perfect. Clear top pick. BRITISH NAVY (3) travelled a bit closer to the pace then battled on fairly to clock in fifth over 1150m at the Beaumont track last time out. Will enjoy getting beyond six furlongs for the first time and can improve sharply. MIKKIE (5) did a little better at Kembla recently when lining up for only the second time. A tongue tie going on may be significant. QUADRIA (12) only faded in the closing stages last start at Hawkesbury over 1300m. Should race handy again and can run a cheeky race. JUST JOAN (9) races over further than 1200m for the first time in her 18-start career. Good effort at Mudgee last time so she is not out of calculations.
