Bathurst Race 4 - Horse Of The Year Marvel Man Hcp (C1)

FAWLTY AFFAIRS (6) is the one to beat off a strong setup. His latest sixth in a BM58 at this venue reads better than it looks after racing wide throughout and he was only beaten two and a half lengths. The start prior he won a Mdn at this track on heavy ground and those figures stack right up in this field. RAGUEL (7) led them up at Coffs last start and was too good, winning by 1.4L in a solid figure. Should be able to take up the running from a favourable alley and he can repeat the dose without surprising. MY BOY SCOUT (3) was beaten as favourite first-up at Dubbo but covered ground and has a stronger 1200m profile than that result suggests. Fitter for that run and he can improve now getting out in trip. ELTRUM (4) resumes after six months, has trialled solidly at Kembla Grange, and his earlier form gives him a place chance if he handles 1200m for the first time. WRITTEN GOLD (1) is next best.
