FLYING MAURICE (9) is the one to beat after launching his career with a composed Canberra Mdn win, settling back before finishing over the top of them to beat Amahtrom by a long neck - who races in the opener. The way he won stands out and the figure stacks up as he rises in grade. Can keep the ball rolling. ALABAMA HUSSY (5) is the main danger after being beaten only a length and a half in a CL2 at Goulburn, where she picked up well and was held up near the 100m. Her prior BM55 run as favourite also had interference. Easy to forgive her recent form and she can bounce back to her best. BRUTAL ELEGANCE (6) resumes for Anthony Warren with a latest second at Kembla Grange trial suggesting she can return in better order, though her closing runs last campaign were plain. TRIFECTA RUBY (8) has a track win to her name and her fourth two back reads well enough to keep her in the argument. I'M SCARLETT (3) has minor claims on her recent runs.

He was at generous odds there and did have to steady passing the 200m, which adds merit to the performance rather than taking away from it. That was an impressive win and with improvement likely, he's the most appealing.
