MELANITE (1) handy gelding who won the big MM Maiden on the Gold Coast first-up, then raced flat with the 60.5kg with a plugging third over 1000m at Wyong. Should appreciate the 1200m tonight and looks to have solid top-three claims. PENPEL (3) underrated filly resuming. Demolished a handy line-up by 3 lens over 1100m at Warwick Farm last June. Returns in good order with the two strong trials and maps well from the draw. Tongue-tie goes on and will prove hard to catch. RAJWA (4) strengthened over the break with a hard fought first-up win over 1100m at this track. No match for the progressive Caesar when fourth over 1250m here at latest. Fitter now and has further improvement to come. BEVERLY HILLS (6) improving filly expected to aim up this campaign. Wasn't knocked about in her two recent trials and must be kept safe.
