Looks the goods in a race weakened significantly by two key scratchings. Veteran mare GIDDY GAN'S JOY (5) has been safely held in two runs this prep. Grows a leg on wet ground and she should be getting close to peak fitness now. RIGHTEOUS (2) hasn't won for around two years. Going okay without threatening but should control things in front today and the chasing pack isn't all that strong. CARACORON (1) drops in class and distance after a poor effort at the Gold Coast recently. Has won four races and three were on rain-affected ground. Capable of sharp improvement in a race of this quality. MAHUIKA MAROI (4) isn't out of the equation after a decent effort in soft going at Lismore last time.
