THE TORQUE XPRESS (2) looked a chance but his effort peaked near the line at his latest outing over 1300m at Ballina. Twice a winner in soft going. The two best chances come out which paves the way. VENDEMMIA (6) makes life hard as he gets so far back in races so this small field plays into his hands. Best form comes at this trip and he has placed twice in heavy ground. Great chance to return to the winner's list. WHISKEY MISS (8) is in the mix off a five-week freshen up. Has raced over this distance four times for two wins and two placings, including a win here at her only visit. Comes right into calculations. MASTER ARTIST (5) resumes. Beaten less than three lengths when favourite first-up at Grafton last prep. Expect him to be ready to run well. LADY ALABAMA (4) comes here off a short break. Placed at three of five runs in soft ground which is worth noting.
