THE DAILY PLANET (1) is well placed in this race and things didn't work out for him from a wide gate at Terang this trip 9 days ago. 2x winning rider Meech sticks from that and he can sit closer from an inside barrier. His close-up effort in a Cranbourne 62 three back is good form. KING ALLA (6) capped improving form with a win this grade/trip at Kilmore. Has the inside gate and won't have to be much better to pose a threat. FASHION FIGHTER (4) was terrible at Yarra Valley last time but was handy on the turn when beaten a whisker at Ararat prior over this distance. Hurdle sticks and the winkers are on again. A much better effort is likely. KNOCK OF BEERS (7) won first-up and then was beaten 3L at Kilmore over 1450m behind Elvis. Has to push forward from a wide gate, but she should be around the mark with the extra fitness. Gordon rides BLACK AUTUMN (5), and no surprise to see him improve quickly.
