GENETIC FREAK (3) brings the strongest recent form, having won an Open at this track from FIELD OF FLUTES before being beaten just over half a length as favourite in a BM NT three weeks ago. That last-start defeat still reads well for this BM76, and his three wins from seven starts at the distance add substance. Top pick. BON'S PRIDE (4) has been freshened since two plain Open runs, but his five wins and four placings from twelve starts at this track and distance make him the key rebound chance. Not to be discounted. FIELD OF FLUTES (1) beat Flying Annie last start in a BM NT and is holding form, though the weight and recent head-to-head with GENETIC FREAK keep him more as a place hope. TARTAGLIA (5) resumes for a new stable after a close Class 6 fourth at Grafton and a CG BM64 win at Gosford. Can give this a shake if that interstate form transfers. ATLANTIC OCEAN (7) can improve into a place second-up.
