ALPINE BLAST (3) got a long way back and was well beaten in a 1620m contest at Launceston five days ago. The was in tougher class and Bingley's 1.5kg claim is handy. Maps well and flies this course/distance. Had the tongue tie applied for the first time and ideally placed is sure to play a major role. WHO CAN IT BE NOW (6) did a good job last start to finish third at Launceston over 1600m, beaten 1.3 lengths. Spiked his figures and that run will have him rock-hard fit. Should be involved in the finish. SCARLETTI (2) travelled in a rearwards position and then made good inroads when beaten 2.75 lengths over 1400m at Hobart four weeks ago. Third up now and the blinkers are on again. The 2kg claim brings him into it. GEE GEE CAN WIN (7) is a better chance than the form line suggests. Plainer last time but the form leading to that would have him in the mix.
