Eagle Farm Race 1 - Sky Racing Hcp
MARTIST (1) was backed as though unbeatable on debut last start over 1200m at Doomben and he got the job done, defeating a couple of today's key rivals. Went through the line strongly that day so an extra 100m is ideal. Clear top pick again. HIT A LICK (6) followed MARTIST into the race and did well to keep the margin under a length when lining up for the first time a fortnight ago. Draws a better gate and enjoys a 2kgs weight swing today so there shouldn't be a lot between them again. DOUBTWILLY (2) raced on the speed and gave a kick but couldn't hold out MARTIST and HIT A LICK at Doomben. Unlikely to have the same degree of improvement as the other pair but should be thereabouts. GOLD CZECH (3) returned from an eight-week break with a workmanlike win over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast recently. Meets some smarter types today but he is progressive and should appreciate the 1300m. APOSTLE (4) was demolished by the smart Pembrey on debut three weeks ago. Top four contender.
