SCURGEOFTHEWEST (6) won four in-a-row before a 2.9L defeat when stepping up to the mile last start as an odds-on favourite. He's been freshened and returns to a sprint trip now with the in-form Nottle on board. Looks well placed to return to winning ways. PLAYING GAMES (7) wasn't far away last start in a much tougher race at Ascot last time out and she looks well placed coming to this race. The inside draw should see her within striking distance in the run and with no weight on her back, she can make her presence felt. FALSE STATEMENT (3) flew home to be 1.1L off the winner last start at Esperance after winning well here two back. Faithfull hops on board now and the better draw today is ideal. Can return to winning ways without surprising. THEHORSEMAN (2) missed in a photo finish last start and has to be included on the back of that effort.
