Gold Coast Race 1 - Craig & Toni The Pinnacle Mdn Plate
Very difficult race to start proceedings. SPINIFEX DJON'S (15) showed pace and boxed on well to hold third on debut over 800m at Ipswich last start. Likely improver with that run under the belt and this looks a nice race for her. FEARLESS WIN (11) last appeared when a respectable fourth in the Group 3 McLachlan over 1200m at Eagle Farm in December. Recent trial winner who looks a big threat although a wide gate is concerning. OLIVONI (13) started at $1.65 on debut recently at Ipswich and looked home after leading but was bloused late. Coming back to 1000m is ideal. Great chance to repay supporters. JOLAYNA DASH (16) is first-up since finishing seventh on debut in the Listed Phelan Ready at Doomben in early December. Trialled well recently and will be hard to beat in this easier assignment. PHERE THE WARREGO (12) is back from a four-month spell. Ran a couple of nice races in the maiden prep and should be competitive again in this field.
