The return to 2400m suits him better, with a previous win over the trip. LORD PROTECTOR (1) is the obvious danger after winning a CL3 at Ipswich last start as favourite, keeping MAKAMAE safely at bay. Can't see the added trip worrying but he does go up in the weights. MAKAMAE (2) meets the winner with a kilo swing and has been well found in recent betting, though this is her first look at 2400m and she has to turn around the Ipswich result. QUALITY MISS (5) brings honest Gatton form, winning two back before a one-length second as favourite. Profiles as a genuine place chance if the longer trip doesn't blunt her finish.
