POISONOUS (3) resumes from a lengthy break after fading quickly on debut with a poor last over 1100m at Randwick Kensington last June. Strengthened over the break and returns with the two slick trial wins. Hard to stop from the inside draw. DEFIANCE (9) gelded over the break after he had mixed success in three runs in his first prep. Won both trials in good style and shapes as a solid top-three chance. KING STRAAND (2) I Am Invincible gelding out of Diademe on debut for the Ed Cummings yard. Wasn't pushed out in his last two trials and expected to overcome the sticky draw.
