Thompson takes over from the good draw and should give him every chance to make it two on the bounce in the new colours. FLOP SHOT (6) looks the main danger, having been beaten a head at the Sunny Coast before a third at the Gold Coast when bumped at the start and sent out favourite. He is proven around 1700m and looks well placed to rebound. SNUGG (3) backs up quickly after a Dalby fourth and had been held up before placing at this venue two runs ago. Shoulders a fitness edge and can put it all together this time. STEADY ON (5) comes through a country CL1 third after racing keenly and being bumped. Was a tough all the way maiden winner prior. Suspect they push forward from the middle draw and gives his rivals something to catch.

The Doomben run prior in a Class 2 was also only fair, when second last and never a factor after settling well back. He is race fit and his time ratings give him some appeal, but the recent racing pattern leaves him more a place chance than a win play. One for the exotics.
