MANCHEGO (2) started a prohibitive favourite last start at Kyneton and looked to have his chance but had to settle for second. Was noted to be lame, though, which is a fair excuse, so prepared to give another chance. LAGUNANINI (9) did little first-up, but attracted serious support in a race at Ballarat last Friday that did not end up going ahead, so that suggests there's a bit of confidence she's ready to improve. JAPANESE MOKA (4) broke through for his maiden win over 1200m at Bairnsdale last time, scoring comfortably. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. GOLDEN PULSE (6) hasn't done much since his debut win but gets to 1200m for the first time, which might bring improvement.
