PORTARLINGTON (1) was a good in restricted room here fresh then chased gamely into the placings when well supported in the G3 David Coles Stakes on the main track. Peaking now and will find this much easier. Is the one to beat. CRUDE AWAKENING (6) was no match for an impressive winner at the midweeks but never gave in to grab second. Fitter and is in the mix, though will have to take a big step to threaten the fav. TWEETER (7) finished just behind CRUDE AWAKENING on debut and meets her with a good pull at the weights with Hutchinson taking over. Can turn the tables on her but will also need to take a big leap to get the verdict. WATERORTHECAN (3) is a Headwater gelding on debut from the sharp juvenile stable of R & C Jolly. Has come along nicely at the trials and is among the minor chances. BREWSTER BUCK (2) next best.
