SWISHGOBANGO (2) is the clear starting point after lifting to win a 3yo+ Benchmark 48+ over 1200m at Junction, beating Costa Star by a neck while carrying 60kg. He drops to 57.5kg here and arrives in winning form, although the step to 1400m has to be respected given he was well beaten over 1600m at Carnarvon two runs back. FORBIDDEN APPLE (5) is the main danger, with two closing efforts at Carnarvon suggesting she is ready to peak fourth-up, and the return from 1600m to 1400m is a useful change. BLOWIN' SMOKE (3) has not won this season but has finished fourth at his past two and has placed at Mt Magnet, so he appeals as the safer minor-money runner if he sharpens late. LE TROY (6) must improve on recent results, yet his 1400m record gives him enough grounding to be included among the chances for the exotics.
