ROCKTAGON (4) appeals as the one to beat with the class drop from BM66 company, a previous win at this track and the winning rider back aboard. His latest fifth at Mt Gambier was plain on face value, but he had been beaten just under two lengths at Strathalbyn the run prior and handles soft ground well enough to get his chance. TOGETHERFOREVER (11) is the main danger after working home into fourth at Balaklava and she brings a useful wet-track profile, plus a claim that helps her at the weights. SAFE BET (1) has not fired in two runs this campaign, yet he is third-up, proven around 1400m and comes through a BM68 at Penola, so a sharper effort would not surprise. OUI OUI MA CHERIE (3) is fitter second-up after Saturday company at Morphettville and her track-and-trip record keeps her firmly in the mix, though the soft ground is the reservation.

Comes off a poor Balaklava run, finishing last and beaten over 15 lengths after settling back, covering ground and making no impression. He had been fair rather than threatening when fifth at Gawler the run prior, and Togetherforever beat him home last time. Weight relief helps, but he has to turn his form around sharply.

Worked home well for fourth in a BM56 at Balaklava last start, beaten just under five lengths after having work to do, and she was much better found in the market than at Mt Gambier two back. The class drop, 3kg claim and return to 1400m all help, while her two wins on wet tracks are useful on a soft 6. Back to 1400m with a strong winning case.
