Newcastle Race 5 - The Port Stephens Examiner Mdn Plate
AVON CALLING (5) two runs back have been excellent and looks ready for this trip from the good gate. Taken back early from the sticky gate and savaged the line with an unlucky second over 1150m at Illawarra Grange. Only has to hold that form to be winning this. PHOTOSHOP (7) big form reversal at her second race start when she held a forward position from the good gate to finish a narrow second over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Gave us a glimpse of what she's capable of last start and has the upside to take this out. REVAMPED (2) raced without cover on debut as a heavily supported fav when a fading seventh over 1200m at this track. Cross-over nose band goes on for this and deserves another chance with a bit more luck in the run. PERI (6) hardly set the world alight in two runs and could be looking for this trip and further now. Gets map favours again in a fairly thin Maiden.
