He is third-up, race fit, and his run prior contained a slow start, so the latest effort reads as the better guide. Drawn out but with some luck, he'll knock over this maiden. FIERCE CRITIC (4) has stronger back-form than most of these and resumes with two trials behind her; the plain Warwick Farm finish before the spell is a query, but her Hawkesbury placing before that keeps her right in the race. Can resume with a bang. MARDYKE (6) was well held on debut at Caulfield Heath. She was awkwardly away there and has been readied for this with two Flemington jumpouts. Creates interest. VELASTRA (14) kept on fairly on debut at Wyong, has trialled since and brings an improving lightly-raced profile. Key player.
