What shaped as one of the more interesting races of the night has been decimated by scratchings, which presents good opportunities to a few of these. ELECTRIC STAR (10) last appeared five weeks ago over 1200m at Cranbourne when she finished third. This is her first run for the Lyn Tolson & Leonie Proctor stable. Wide draw doesn't look so bad after scratchings, so looks a major player now at peak fitness. CORE CONCEPT (1) was in the firing line on the corner and finished second last start over 1000m at Cranbourne, beaten a length. Yet to miss the frame in two starts over this course and distance. STRONG BOX (5) disappointed on debut but was a nice winner at the only other start and is an obvious improver who must be respected. HEY KLEINE MAUS (7) is another drawn wide advantaged by the shrinking field and ran her best race on debut when a nice winner. Has trialled up well ahead of the return.
