KERGUELEN (6) handy gelding with a good record at this course and distance. Found the 1000m too sharp first up with the 59kg when a closing third to Ice Kool over 1000m at Warwick Farm. Since fitted with a 1000m trial and look for Rawiller to be angling for runs late. SIGNOR TORTONI (7) thrown in the deep end with a struggling thirteenth to Grafterburners in the G2 Sydney Stakes over 1200m here third up. Assess on earlier runs and can return to form here. WANARUAH (2) races best with his runs spaced and looks to get a similar set-up for this. Just under a month between runs with a slick on pace victory over 1200m at this track in BM94 grade. Only has to hold that form to figure prominently. POLYGLOT (9) registered a strong win two runs back at Doomben, then closed strongly from the rails draw when third over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Comes back to Sydney and stays in the mix.
