Keen to be with SABI STORM (1) who resumed over 1400m at Pakenham and ran well over a trip short of his best. He got back in the run but worked home well enough to be beaten 2.5 lengths and the rise in distance here is perfect. His form last time in reads very well for this, he can settle closer now and prove too classy. WINTER NIGHTS (2) was a tough winner on debut at Echuca when getting up by a nose, finishing too well off a solid tempo. He should appreciate the extra ground now too and can measure up. MADESIAN (3) struggled fresh at Yarra Valley when in the market. A few have been flopping there recently on a tricky track, he could improve quickly on the bigger circuit. MONTE CASSINO (6) was okay last time at Pakenham in a small field and can place, as can RUSSIAN RONI (7) who backed up an easy picnic win with a solid placing last time.
