Scone Race 1 - Isec Plate (C1)
QUIRKY PRINCESS (3) had been racing well without threatening then struck a modest Class 1 over 2100m at Tamworth last start and registered her maiden win, clearing away to score by three lengths. This isn't a race dripping with quality so now that the penny has dropped she can go right on with the job. TASMAN DEEL (6) is still a maiden, filling a placing at three of his four career runs. Wound up nicely from near the back of the field to grab third last time out over the mile at Tamworth. Crying out for this sort of trip. The widely travelled NORTH TERRACE (2) has struggled in a couple of 2400m races since finishing second over 1980m at Tatura three back. On a nine-day back-up and can improve back in this more suitable contest. OMINOUS (5) is a six-start maiden racing beyond 1600m for the first time. Very one-paced so this might be a good option. DUAL AWARD (1) is another who should appreciate getting out to a staying trip for the first time.
