HE WAS ME (3) sets the standard after a sound second-up placing on the turf here, finishing third to Draco over 1400m and again showing the current-season consistency that has him racing in the right form. Out to 1650m now may be the query, but Atzeni knows him well and he rates highly on his latest effort. WINNING DIAMOND (11) is the main danger after making ground for second behind Cheerful Wongchoy at Happy Valley, and he has a recent edge over ORIENTAL SURPRISE from that same race. First time racing on this surface but he ticks some boxes. ORIENTAL SURPRISE (9) has been holding his form well, with a third at this track followed by a close fifth at Happy Valley. He's placed in both attempts at this track and trip and makes plenty of appeal with no weight on his back. MAZING GRACE (10) improved into fifth at this venue last start and gets weight relief. Drawn better and can feature.
