SPIRIT OF TORQUE (4) made a promising debut when finishing fifth, only 4 lengths off the winner over 1110m at Doomben 18 days ago, and with the natural improvement that is expected second up, he looks like one of the key hopes. LANGAN (1) resumes as a gelding for the first time after four months in the spelling paddock, and he had his mind on other things when finishing sixth on debut over 1000m here in the spring. He has had two trials to prepare, placing in the latest, and should be competitive fresh. ZANDARI (6) won a trial and then was not far away on debut when fifth over 800m at Ipswich, and he looks capable of taking a step forward with that experience under his belt. SI SI SI SIESTA (2) got back and never threatened on debut at Eagle Farm, but it was reported that he had gotten his tongue over the bit that day, which does restrict the breathing of horses. He will be better for the outing and can improve sharply with the tongue-tie on.
