BUTTERCUP (7) has found the maiden win elusive but profiles strongly second-up after a strong chase into the placing when resuming at Eagle Farm in mid-week company. With improvement to come and an inside draw she's clearly the one to beat. EMPHATIQUE (11) is the main danger after going under narrowly at Beaudesert despite a slow start and difficulty getting clear, with her Doomben fourth before that also reading well. MAGIC INVADER (4) is hard to dismiss on consistency, although his long maiden record and wide alley tempers the win confidence slightly. TERRAX (5) resumes. Didn't show much in his only run last time in but his form back in Victoria reads well, and Thompson's booking keeps him firmly in calculations.
