BAR STAR (6) has clear upside after a debut second at Gatton where he was bumped early, raced keenly and still finished strongly. Doubt the rise to 1000m causes him any trouble and Maloney's booking from the inside pillar reads favourably. PUNISHMENT DAY (9) resumes after a debut sixth at Doomben that reads better than the bare result, given he jumped awkwardly and raced wide. Has been fitted with two trials and gets the key booking of Thompson. Have to take seriously. WILD LASS (16) exceeded expectations fresh when filling the frame at a big quote.
