FEARED (4) resumes gelded and has switched from a leading Melbourne yard. Two starts ago he kicked off his second campaign with a 1.5L defeat over this distance at Kembla Grange. That's strong form and he's trialled well with race rider Bullock aboard. Looks ready to go and is well placed. SPOT ON THE MOON (2) bounded at the start at Grafton on debut and turned in an eye-catching effort when missing the win by a short head. Has an outside gate, but that shouldn't hold him back. Strips fitter and has the tongue tie on today. OLE MISS (12) resumes for the smart Archibald stable and was spelled following a solid effort at Bathurst on debut. She won a recent Scone trial and will be naturally improved. The race day betting will tell plenty. Kris Lees-trained SMASHING NOVA (6) is busting to win. Was just beaten as a short-priced favourite at Taree last time and the blinkers go on today for the first time. They may make the difference.
