Wagga Race 8 - Raising Hope With Steph (Bm66)
DITTERICH (2) gets the nod after two sound runs at this track and now reaches the right stage of his campaign. He was beaten just over half a length by Star Of Lily last start after racing close enough, and his prior second to PIETRO ROAD reads well in the context of this field. PIETRO ROAD (3) has done little wrong at this track, winning two back and then missing by a nose as favourite after beginning slowly and having difficulty getting clear passing the 300m. He beat DITTERICH recently, so he must be respected again. HOWIE DO IT (9) lightly raced gelding back from an eight-month break. Struggled with the 60kg as fav with a tiring sixth in a BM58 over 1100m at Goulburn on a soft track last February. Fitted with a narrow trial placing at Hawkesbury and looks set for a good campaign. MAJESTIC REWARD (10) chipped away late from the wide gate first up when second at Albury in a BM58 over 900m. Place preferred.
