KING OF THE AIR (1) won on debut and then was fortunate to finish third at G3 level in a 4-horse field at Matamata before having a freshen up. He revels in wet ground, and from a good gate, he is the one to beat. MIDNIGHT DART (2) was sent for a spell after finishing out of the money but not too far off the placings in the Karaka Millions 2YO at Ellerslie in late January. A wet track is no issue, and even without a trial, he will be ready to rumble fresh. HIGH ROCK (3) won the latest of his 2 public trials at Foxton, and he did so by 7 lengths. He is bred to cope with a wet track, and the market will be the best guide. SWORDSMAN (4) won his only public trial to date, and he has the coveted pole position. If not too green, then he can figure in the finish. VANTAGE POINT (5) won a trial before failing on debut, and he is worth another chance.
