TURFQUAKE (2) finished third here on debut in the spring, and his next couple of starts were also not too bad. He won a recent trial, and his trial form suggests that he will win a race at some stage. He meets an even field here, and he should go close to taking this out. POROTENE TIGER (3) has steadily improved in each of his 3 starts to date. The step up from 1400m to 1650m is ideal, and from a handy gate, he will be hard to hold out. Each-way. VANILLA STORM (7) made an encouraging debut at Pukekohe and then ran another good race here just over 3 weeks ago. She will be at her peak fitness now, and the extra 250m should suit her, and she can figure in the top 3 here. SILVER PATCH (5) had plenty of trial experience before needing the run on debut at Matamata nearly 3 weeks ago. He is bred to improve with racing, and he is worth including in all top 4 combinations. VINCERO (1) hit the line hard when resuming at Tauherenikau and he will improve sharply second up. Stick with him.
