Kim Waugh's BLUE SUEDE HOOVES (1) was in the money first-up over 1000m at Port Macquarie then has been just average in two subsequent outings over 1200m. Placed at two of three over this trip so from a good gate things fall into place for a return to form. Stablemate LE BLEU CIEL (4) is a danger on debut. Has trialled four times with the most recent effort clearly the pick, a three-length win at the Beaumont track. Will want a bit of ground eventually but at this stage of her preparation she can sprint well. THE NETBALL QUEEN (8) is progressing well this prep. Led and looked home but was bloused close to home recently over this distance at Gosford. Very fit after three runs back and will look the winner at some stage. NORDIC STAR (6) resumes. Was in the market at both runs of the maiden prep but didn't flatter, possibly due to wet tracks. Worth another chance this time around on top of the ground. QUI ROUGE (7) can improve on a mediocre return at Taree last time out.
