Tricky race. GILDED REIGN (1) gets the nod following a fourth at Bunbury two runs back and a last-start seventh beaten three and a half lengths. The 1920m is new territory and he carries the top weight, but this is easier and he has the upside to raise the bar out in trip. Can knock over the maiden. GOING HARD (8) is harder to trust, though he is among friends in this assignment. He's race fit at the journey and draws the inside for Lyon, who is in good form. Finds the right race to feature in the finish. CRAZY CARROT (5) has been unwanted in betting and remains a long-standing maiden, but this is a softer set-up and she can work into the placings if she sharpens. ROCK THE MIC (2) was plain over 2025m last start, though his earlier Bunbury run had more merit and the 3kg claim helps him hold a minor-winning hope. KINGSLEY TOWN (6) is next best.
